Journal post n.2: the front page photograph

16/7/22 - written by Laly Bigeard

Hey guys welcome to my 2nd journal post! Today’s post is going to be about how my mum and I created the image of me on the front page of my website!

So, we went to Broken Head which is one of our local beaches and my mum took some photographs of me near the red rocks for my song album cover. My mum is a photographer and you might know her, her name is Pia Jane Bijkerk. It was a bit awkward at first because there were people around and near the area where we were taking the photographs. After I gained confidence it got fun and we took a silly picture where I was lying on the sand with my hair all over the place. When I got up the sand looked like a face (see a picture down below)…

The photos turned out great. Together we chose a few we really liked and then we narrowed it down to one for the front page – I have chosen another one for my single cover which I can’t wait to show you when it’s ready!

So after choosing the photo for the front image, Mum printed it out and I traced a few designs over the photo. I did three then picked my favourite. This is the one you can see which is the front home page of my website. Then I added some designs on the sides of my face. My Mum added some layers and voila! I really like it and I hope you do too!

I hope you guys enjoyed this journal post of a semi tutorial on how my mum and I created the front image of my website.
